Accessible Pumpkin Picking at Lymm Pumpkin Patch

This weekend I visited Lymm Pumpkin Patch with my family. I am often unable to accompany my family during activities such as pumpkin picking because the sites usually are not accessible for me. However, this was not the case with Lymm Pumpkin Patch. Thanks to the size of the site and on-site parking, I was able to enjoy this activity with my family. Here is a review of our visit to Lymm Pumpkin Patch for some accessible pumpkin picking in the North West.

Facilities

First of all, the on-site parking made pumpkin picking accessible for guests with limited mobility. By parking close to the main entrance of the pumpkin patch, those with limited mobility, or visitors with a mobility scooter, can easily reach the main attraction.

There is a toilet on site, but since this is a farm, such facilities are naturally limited, and there is no disabled toilet. There is a van from which you can purchase hot and cold drinks as well as snacks.

Entry to the site is free, as is parking. You just pay for the pumpkins you choose at the end of your visit.

The paths around the pumpkin patch are wide and well kept making them great for those with limited mobility, or those using a wheelchair or mobility scooter. Be aware that the paths can become quite muddy; however, during our visit, the ground was dry, and so this wasn’t a problem.

The farm itself isn’t huge; it is a large piece of land, but not too overwhelming for those with limited mobility, and the multiple paths mean you don’t have to walk around the entire field.

Lymm Pumpkin patch permits well-behaved dogs as long as they are kept on a lead.

The patch itself is fantastic. There are a huge number of pumpkins to choose from, which come in all shapes, colours and sizes.

There are lots of wheelbarrows available if you wish to use them.

The site also has a maze. This costs £2 per person. The maze is up a slight incline from the carpark. Again, the paths were wide, making them accessible. This was a fun way to end our visit.

If you are looking for accessible pumpkin picking in the North West, take a look at Lymm Pumpkin Patch. Depending upon your individual physical limitations, this may be the perfect family day out for you. It has great parking facilities, and as the patch isn’t too big and it is relatively easy to navigate. Dogs are also welcome, meaning the whole family can enjoy a day out!
